Tori Willis, Class of 2018

Tori Willis recently welcomed us to Saint Louis University where he is a sophomore majoring in computer science! We were excited to learn more about his experience as a graduate of Access Point, a program that partners with high schools, higher education institutions, and corporations to provide pathways for students to begin a career in software engineering.

Tori started taking programming courses through Access Point during his senior year at Christian Brothers College High School. This led to a six-month apprenticeship with Bayer. By the spring of his freshman year of college, Tori was enrolled in a full course load at SLU while working full-time as an Associate Software Engineer!

Looking back, Tori shared that the Access Point program helped him break out of his shell and become more confident. This semester he is focused on building additional software skills and becoming more involved at SLU. He was

recently elected as a Student Government Association Senator for the School of Science and Engineering and has enjoyed participating in the Chinese Language Table. Tori is grateful for the connections he created through the Access Point program and at Bayer. He looks forward to staying in touch with them as he continues to grow!
